Overview
Unlockable Weapons are customizable weapons that you have to unlock in order to wield. After they are unlocked, you may choose them in your costume options at either Icon or a Facemaker. Currently, there are several ways to unlock the weapons, including but not limited to defeating a certain number of a specific enemy type, earning a badge, completing certain story arcs, purchase with Vanguard Merits, obtaining certain Recipe drops, or purchasing them from Empyrean Michael after completing certain Incarnate Trials.

Unlocking the Rularuu Weapons
There are five possible ways to unlock the Rularuu weapon models. Doing any one of the following will unlock the Rularuu weapons:
- Get the Visionary Badge for defeating 100 Overseer bosses (Heroes and Villains)
- Obtain the badge or souvenir from any Shadow Shard task force (Heroes only)
- Complete Technician Naylor's level 35-40 arc "Last Stand on Mole Point Bravo" (Villains only)
- Complete Scirocco's level 40-45 arc "The Hammer of the World" (Villains only)
- Complete Efficiency Expert Pither's level 45-50 arc "Alone in the Darque" (Villains only)
Note: the various unlockable weapons and shields in this group contain eyeballs in their designs. These eyeballs are animated: they look around and occasionally blink.
Unlocking the Vanguard Weapons
There are three possible ways to unlock the Vanguard weapon models.
- Pay a certain number of Vanguard Merits at a Vanguard Crafting Table to unlock it for that one character
- Participated in the second Loyalty Program from February 1st through April 18th, 2011, to unlock it for that whole account; this option is no longer available
- Pay a certain number of Paragon Points on the Paragon Market, either individually or as a costume bundle, to unlock it for that whole account
Arachnos Widows
Arachnos Widows cannot customize their claws, even though the costume editor allows for drop-down options.
Historical
- Except for the gun models, Vanguard unlockable weapons were formerly called Talsorian weapons. This was changed on November 12, 2009.
