Overview

A Giant Monster is an extraordinarly tough opponent to face. It usually requires more than one team to defeat them. Most of the Giant Monsters spawn on random timers in the various zones. In Issue 7, the difficulty of Giant Monsters was raised. On most Giant Monsters, to earn credit for the defeat, your team must account for 10% of the damage against them. (Lusca is the exception to this rule)

A Giant Monster will always Con as purple, no matter what level your character is. While Giant Monsters do not show a level in the targeting box, they do have a level that you can discover by right clicking on them and selecing info or by targeting them and typing /info.

If you are a higher level than the Giant Monster, you will do damage to it as if you were it's level. It is similar to being auto-exemplared/malfactored, without the reduction in enhancement power you would normally receive for being reduced to that level.

If you are lower level than the Giant Monster, you will do damage to it as if it was one level lower than you.

The damage the Giant Monster deals out will scale up or down to your current combat level.

For example, two characters team up to attack Babbage (Level 19), one of them is level 12, and the other is level 50. When the level 12 character hits Babbage, he/she will do damage as if Babbage was an level 11 enemy. When the level 50 character hits Babbage, he will do damage as if he was level 19. If Babbage hits the level 12 character, Babbage will do damage to that character as if Babbage was level 12, and will do damage to the level 50 character as if Babbage was level 50.

If the level 50 now sidekicks the level 12, the lower level character will now be operating at combat level 49. Both characters will now do damage to Babbage as if they were level 19, and Babbage will now deal damage as if he was level 50 and 49, respectively.
