Overview
Superadine, also referred to as 'dyne or Supes, is one of the drugs that is currently plaguing Paragon City. It is a modified version of soldier enhancement formulas developed by the US Army during World War II. When injected, it gives a sense of profound confidence and euphoria along with increased endurance and strength. Beyond these seeming benefits, it is also a mild hallucinogen and powerfully addictive.
The Trolls heavily abuse Superadine, which accounts for their odd appearance and abilities. Back Alley Brawler and his team known as the Regulators are famous for battling the Superadine epidemic.
In less than 1% of those addicted to Superadine, the human brain undergoes a radical alteration. The result is the creation of a new kind of sense—the ability to see, and even travel to other dimensions. In spite of Statesman's strong objections to using the results of unethical research, Dr. Brian Webb founded Portal Corporation and used the original research as a starting point for developing portal technology.
