$Heroname
Heya. Currently, any circumstance in which the hero or villain's name is mentioned, the majority of us use the template {{Character}}. If you're currently going around checking contacts, could you use that instead of $Heroname? Thanks! Sera404 23:07, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh. Right. Thanks I'll get onto that. Same with the gossip I've been recording. Been using $Villainname since forever. Noted for future reference :) - Skarmory The PG 17:18, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
SomethingVal and if/then statements
- {{ResVal}}
- {{DefVal}}
- {{PosVal}}
- {{ProtVal}}
If these are going to be used as prolifically as I believe you intend, I'm concerned about the shear number of if/then statements in the wikimarkup. This isn't compiled code, this isn't even scripting php, instead this is a wiki extension that is using if/then statements in the wiki proccessing dohicky.
Getting into the technical details of the dohicky will be important, and I wish I knew what they were. See [[Template_talk:DefVal]] and http://paragonforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1118
DO NOT let my concern stop you from finishing the {{ProtVal}} template. --Konoko 00:39, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Concerns noted and considered viable. I'll do ProtVal as soon as I can figure out the colors for it, frankly. - Baalus Seth 01:07, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Made a navigation template for you:

- with some suggestions for a clearer naming scheme. Feel free to change them in the navbox. -- Agge (talk) 01:32, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. Hmm.... Let's try this one for size. - Baalus Seth 01:34, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Status colors
Hmm. I need colors for the status effects. Let me see what we got:
- Protection
- Hold
- Immobilize
- Stun
- Sleep
- Knockback
- Confuse
- Terrorize (which for I much prefer the name of Fear)
- Repel
- Teleport
- Resistance
- Hold
- Immobilize
- Stun
- Sleep
- Confuse
- Terrorize
- Placate
- Taunt
Let me think some about the colors... - Baalus Seth 19:25, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- What I'd like to have is that every status effect has the color of a set that is best known for it. My thoughts so far..
- Stun - Martial Arts / Energy Melee Red
- Knockback - Energy Blast Blue
- Confuse - Mind Control Pink or Illusion Control Purple or Plant Control Green
- Fear - Dark Miasma Black
- Repel - Force Field Teal
- Teleport - Gravity Control Aqua or Teleportation Tan
- Taunt - Presence Purple
- This still leaves me without Hold, Sleep, Placate (Ninjitsu Dark Purple?) and Immobilize (Devices Gray?). Ideas? - Baalus Seth 19:35, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Quick perusal of Virtue Help brings up Soul Storm (for awesome looking), Dominate (for speed and overal goodness) and Ice Block (for visibility) -- Baalus Seth 19:41, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- More from Help: Hold - Ice; Immob - Plant; Sleep - Mind; Confuse - Illusion; - Baalus Seth 19:59, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Did you say Enhancement Colors? --Konoko
- I will now proceed to facepalm at having missed that one. They're not perfect (Sleep and Stun are too similar for one) but they are very, very viable. Even if not all of them are there (Repel, Teleport, Placate) -- Baalus Seth 06:12, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- Two versions of {{StatusProtVal}} are up. The current and the last revision. Tell me which one you prefer. - Baalus Seth 14:25, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh and my personal opinion. I'm leaning towards the later, but frankly, I find it looks best if the first few are from the enhancements version and the latter ones are from the powesets. The breakpoint would be either before or after KB. -- Baalus Seth 14:27, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Deletion Request for ResVal Template
Checking what currently links to that template, I see that your User page and this talk page still currently link to it. Just making sure you're aware so you can clean up any links that might break before I delete the template. --Eabrace 16:56, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Ditto for the PosVal template. --Eabrace 16:57, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the head's up. I've already went through the What Links Here pages when I was moving them to their new names. Delete away. - Baalus Seth 18:01, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
