In search of navigation...

One of the difficulties in using the Players' Guide--in my opinion, at least--is that it's difficult to navigate through it. That's exactly the sort of problem Navboxes are good at fixing, so I thought I'd draft one up. Unfortunately, it didn't "break up" as nicely as I thought it would. And I'm not even sure I got it all (I'm noticing now that I missed the subpages of The Players' Guide to the Cities/User Interface/Help Window for instance... though at the moment, I'll refrain from adding them). Any suggestions for a better organization of these links? (Or even a better way to approach providing a nav system on the pages, if not via a navbox?) I'm wondering if perhaps it may even be helpful to move some of the Guide's pages around a bit -- move some of the second-level subpages to third-level subpages, so that there are fewer second-level ones, perhaps? That's a valid point. Navigation can be a bit entertaining due to the size of the beast. Three potential possibilities come to mind.

1. Completely expand the subpage ToC on the guide's main page and link there.
2. Only link the major subsections on the main page and place an expanded ToC on each of the major subsection pages. Link the Navbox to these subsection overviews.
3. Have a main Navbox that links to each of the major subsections and a set of subsection Navboxes for each area with links to other pieces of that subsection. For example, all subpages within the User Interface section would have the main Navbox, followed by the User Interface navbox.

I'm not opposed to moving things around if it makes things easier. Might not be a bad idea for me to actually sit down and try to lay out a good visual outline to get a better grasp on the scope of it all. --Eabrace 15:20, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
