Article Title Appropriateness
Should we really make an article called Y, or the like? I mean, it's kinda like making an article for The or So. At the very least, I think these should turn into Y (Slash Command) or the like, since that will happen to work for these --GuyPerfect 16:43, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
- Like my edit notes say, I was very naive and somewhat childish back then. These articles are from when a bunch of abbreviations (LOL, RA, BRB, G2G, DM) were being added. I was going to do this for all 26 letters of the alphabet as well as all the short double letter aliases of slash comand. We didn't have the slash command article standard to guide me, and the {{SlashCommandArticle}} template covers those aliases. I'd keep them like they are for humorous nostalgia. I would not be offended if they were removed for inappropriatenesses sake. --Konoko 18:24, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
- Incidentally I discovered these using Special:Ancientpages. --konoko
- Generally speaking, anything like "Foo (Bar)" should probably either have a redirect from "Foo" to "Foo (Bar)", a disambig from "Foo" to "Foo (Bar)" and several other pages, or an unrelated article at "Foo" that refers to "Foo (Bar)" with {{otheruses4}}. Otherwise, it becomes a lot harder to find "Foo (Bar)". (And the primary point behind the parenthetical is for disambig purposes, generally. Otherwise you'd just call it "Foo".) That in mind, I agree that these articles should probably be renamed to "Y (Slash Command)". However, "Y" should remain as either a disambig or a redirect. Unlike "The" and "So", "Y" has a specific in-game meaning, and it's one that someone might wonder about or search for. That's my extended 2 cents, anyway. -- Sekoia 18:32, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
- That was like, five cents, you crazy person. But yeah, that sounds good. Make "Foo (Bar)" and "Foo" a redirect. --GuyPerfect 18:52, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
