Part Two: Cut out the Middleman

Briefing

Character. Very good news, very good. I just got off the phone with a contact of mine. One of many, I might add.

Ahem. His name is Harrison, he's a specialist working with M.I.C.I.R., the PPD crime lab. He's a good source of information, but I digress.

I need you to talk to Mr... or should I say... Specialist Harrison. It would appear that he has need of your wonderful talents in dealing with a fiasco involving the Clockwork.

It sounds terribly dangerous.

  • Help Specialist Harrison

Oh, wonderful. Harrison is waiting for you down by the Ministry of Information in the Magisterium. Harrison is a sharp fellow; He let me in on where Paul Valus was hiding out, after all, so I figured we could return the favor, don't you think?

Help Specialist Harrison

Unnecessary Solicitation

Specialist Harrison has the details on this clockwork fiasco he's talking about. Throw him a bone. He threw us one.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Speak with Specialist Harrison

Briefing

Thanks for talking to me, Character. I know you Powers Division guys / gals have a lot to do, what with the recent terrorist attacks and all, but I think this might be related.

I heard a report over the police band about a PPD engagement with some Clockwork that had apparently gone berserk.

If my suspicions are correct, this isn't a random occurence, but I need some evidence and a first hand account from you. I want you to go lend the PPD a hand and see what you can find.

Oh, and good job taking down Valus.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Chatter on the dispatch says that the PPD have requested backup twice now. You'd better hurry over there before the fight's over.

Mission Objective(s)

The familiar sound of force gauntlets mixes with plasma blasts and screaming. That sounds like the PPD alright.

  • Check out the Clockwork Disturbance
    • Put down all the malfunctioning Clockwork.

You put down the haywire clockwork, but you'd better get the full story from Officer Welks.

Talk to Warrant Officer Welks

Unnecessary Solicitation

I heard Warrant Officer Welks was in that scrap. I don't know her personally, but I've heard good things about her. See what additional information you can find out from her.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Talk to Warrant Officer Welks

Debriefing

So, you came for some answers about that scuffle with those misbehaving Clockwork, huh? Well, we were kicking their metal teeth in alright before you arrived. Not that I'm not grateful.

Something strange, you ask?

You know, now that you mention it, yeah, I did notice something. They all looked like there had been some significant damage done to their head casings. I figured it was just from a previous run in with a PPD officer, or maybe beating up on each other, but now I'm thinking it was forced entry from someone else... maybe someone's been tampering with their heads?

Return to Specialist Harrison

Unnecessary Solicitation

None.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Return to Specialist Harrison

Briefing

Hey Character, what did you find out?

Tampering? Hey, wait a second. One of my buddies over at M.I.C.I.R. just got a hold of the haywire Clockwork, and they're studying it now. Let me give him a call.

Hey, Parson, yeah, it's Harrison. Hey, do those clockwork show any signs of forced entry?

They do? Well, Character thinks someone may have tampered with them...

What? A foreign chip? Fused to the motherboard?

Right... well, I have Character here right now, I'll tell him / her.

Alright, Parson says that there was a foreign chip installed on those Clockwork, and their navigational records suggest it happened back inside the City Maintenance Facility. I think you'll find our culprit there.

Check out the CMF

Unnecessary Solicitation

The navigational data in this clockwork indicates that it powered up with the new memory chip back at the City Maintenance Facility. Check it out.

Mission Objective(s)

Map: P_Tech_30_Layout_04_01

Everything seemed perfectly fine until you ran into a Clockwork slamming its head against the wall. You deactivated it and moved into the facility for a closer look.

  • Check out the CMF
    • Find out who is responsible

You put an end to the haywire clockwork problem. Return to the Deputy Assistant of Information.

You answer a few questions until the PPD arrive and order the TPN crew off the premesis. Handing over the traitor, you find yourself free to return to the Deputy.

Debriefing

Grand job in thwarting that evil Resistance plot, Character. I made sure to inform one of my contacts over at TPN of your latest exploits, so I hope they managed to catch up to you.

I uh, hope you didn't mind having to do a little leg work. It seems that Harrison wasn't very forthcoming with the information this time around. But don't you worry, next time, I'll be on top of things...
