Overview
Hamidon Origin Enhancements refer to special enhancements that enhance two or more aspects of a power. These enhancements are obtained by defeating Hamidon in 'The Hive' (for heroes) or 'The Abyss' (for villains). Additionally, Statesman and Lord Recluse offer functionally-identical Synthetic Hamidon Origin Enhancements as a reward option from their arcs.
Hamidon Origin enhancements are often referred to as Hami-Os, HOs, SHOs, or SHOEs. Hamidon Origin enhancements are level 50, and may be used by characters of any origin and archetype of level 47 or higher.
Information
Special enhancements will affect two or more aspects. If the power they are placed in has any aspect that can be enhanced, it will. Hamidon Origin enhancements are subject to Enhancement Diversification as all other enhancements are. Hamidon Origin enhancements enhance at the same level as Single Origin enhancements, which each aspect matching their schedule.
Example
A Centriole Exposure Hamidon enhancement will enhance Damage and Range. It can be placed in an enhancement slot for the Brawl power, and it will enhance the damage of the Brawl power. Since the Brawl power is unable to use Range enhancements, a Centriole Exposure enhancement will have no effect on the range of the Brawl power. However, if placed in an Illusion Controller's enhancement slot for the Blind power, which may be enhanced for both Damage and Range, it will enhance both aspects of that power.
Synthetic Hamidon Origin Enhancements
Synthetic Hamidon Enhancements are identical to normal Hamidon Enhancements in every way except for their name, and how they are procured. Unlike normal HamiOs, the synthetic ones can only be awarded you at the end of either the Lord Recluse Strike Force or the Statesman Task Force.

Higher Level Hamidon Enhancements
Hamidon Origin Enhancements can be combined with each other in the same manner as regular enhancements allowing the level 50 enhancements dropped by Hamidon to be made into level 51 or 52 enhancements.
At one time a bug allowed a hero who was exemplared several levels below his natural level to obtain a level 52 Hamidon Origin Enhancement. This is no longer possible; however, these enhancements still exist in the game in finite supply.
Historical
Multiple Types Exploit
Buff enhancements used to work the same as debuff enhancements of the same type. The calculation the game uses is Scale * Strength, where Scale is positive for powers that Buff and negative for powers that Debuff, and Strength is increased by enhancements. For example, the game sees Tactics as applying a 1 scale ToHit change, and Radiation Infection as applying a -2.5 scale ToHit change. Both ToHit Buff and ToHit Debuff enhancements boost the ToHit aspect of those powers; the two powers are simply coded in the database to only permit one or the other to be slotted.
Since Hamidon Origin Enhancements have multiple types, it was possible to place a buff or debuff enhancement into a power in which it was not permitted, so long as one of the other enhancement types is allowed. For example, Fallout, which does not allow Defense Buff or ToHit Buff enhancements, could accept Membrane Exposure, which would provide ToHit Buff, Defense Buff, and Recharge enhancement. The "Detailed Info" display would confirm Fallout's defense and tohit debuffs are enhanced.
This bug could also be used to enhance Defense Buff in certain powers by 33.33% instead of 20% by using a Enhance Defense Debuff HO, and enhance Damage Resistance in certain powers by 33.33% instead of 20% by using an Enhance Damage HO.
Enhancements listed in the same row of the below table are equivalent, and differ only by which powers the enhancement is permitted in.
A bugfix was released on beta prior to Issue 22 to the astonishment of players on the official forums who had believed the fix would never happen. Despite several complaints about how it would affect certain character builds, the changes went to live when Issue 22 was released.
