Overview

Base Plots define the amount of area a Group has to place various Base Rooms to provide shape, definition, style and function to their overall design. All Base Plots are required to have an Entrance Room which members or guests can enter by using the various Base Portals located in the Zones of City of Heroes or City of Villains.

By default all Groups start with a Tiny Hidden Spot for free. Larger Base Plots can be purchased by utilizing the Group's Prestige. Larger Base Plots provide more area to place Base Rooms, and increased overall ability to place more funtional Base Items in the Base. Larger Base plots provide the ability for a base to be able to hold an increased number of Base Items of a specific Category, however the number of Base Items allowed in Base Rooms superceeds this value and can be considered the true limit of how many Base Items of a Category can be placed within a Base.

By adding Base Rooms to Base Plots a group can define the layout of their base. All Groups start with a Tiny Hidden Spot for free. Larger Base Plots can be purchased by using the Group's prestige. Larger Base Plots provide more area for a Group to place Base Rooms. Larger Base Plots can also have the ability to hold a greater number of Base Items of a specific type. The limiting factor on the number of Base Items for most Bases is determined by the total values found from Base Rooms.

At this time there are two categories of Base Plots available to players. There are 10 (ten) Hidden Base Plots available, and there are 7 (seven) Secure Base Plots available.

Types

Hidden Base Plots range from the default 8x8 grid to the largest 24x28 grid. Hidden Base Plots have greater limitations on the number of Energy, Control, and Battery Base Items allowed than Secure Base Plots.

Secure Base Plots range in size from the smallest grid of 12x16 units to the largest 24x28 grid. Secure locations can have backup control and energy sources, as well as more backup batteries. These can allow for more Energy, Control, and Battery Base Items to be placed within the Base than allowed by Hidden Base Plots.

Secure Base Plots have a greater cost than Hidden Base Plots. This greater cost ranges from the smallest Secure Base Plot requiring 240% Prestige of an equal-sized Hidden Base Plot to over five times the cost of the largest of the Hidden Base Plots for an equal-sized Secure Base Plot.
