I actually have more to add to this article. I have created a method of accurately measuring the scale of maps and created some moderately complex math equations to do stuff like pinpoint the exact pixel where a location is on a map, even on transformed maps such as maps that are zoomed, cropped, etc. It was all the basis for a grand project that I started and haven't finished (isn't that always the way) for a map generator site. Who knows, maybe I'll actually wrap it up at some point.
