Overview

This page is part of The Lore Project covering the multiverses found in City of Heroes.

The main universe of City of Heroes is called Primal Earth, or, Earth Prime.

The other universes consist of parallel dimensions or higher/lower planes of existence.

Cosmology

The Multiverse of CoH consists of universes that have several planes of existence within each one that is separated only by a being's perception of their world.

• Physical World

The plane most of the characters in the game call home.

• Psychic Plane

The plane psychics can travel in that allows direct access to a person's mind

• Ethereal World

The plane that the gods reside in.

• Spirit World

The plane that the souls of the dead inhabit as well as the home of many folk tale creatures and where the Banished Pantheon were banished to.

• Hell

The plane that demons call home.

Netherworld

There is not a lot of information on the Netherworld and the information we do have is somewhat contradictory. The Netherworld is the source of some powers seeming to indicate that it is a plane of a universe. However, the Netherworld is also referred to seemingly as a way to refer to a chunk of the multiverse wherein lies other universes.

Shadow Worlds

There are 17 known Shadow Worlds in the Netherworld.

Pocket Dimensions Pocket dimensions are dimensions that are self contained pockets of space-time separated from, but still connected to, a given universe.

Pocket D

A night club, ran by DJ Zero, a mutant with the power to create and manipulate the fabric of the universe, that is a no-fire zone for all.

Ouroboros

The base of operations for the Menders, led by Silos (thought to be Nemesis) to prevent The Coming Storm, by way of traveling through time and manipulating it.

Universes

Universes are listed in Greek alphabetic order, according to their designations. Primal Earth and Rikti Earth have been placed on top even though they have no designation because their importance to the lore merits this. Other universes with no designation are at the bottom of the list.

• All page URLs should use the universe's designation where possible and Nicknames where no designation is given.

Lamda Rho 57-20	Werewolf World	Earth of perpetual night overrun by werewolves.
Nu Beta 9-7	N/A	Earth that is recovering from a brutal war with the Council
Sigma Psi 20-7	N/A	Earth that had it's Revenant Hero Program go out of control.
Tau Delta 8-7	N/A	Earth where Nemesis' automatons took over.
Tau Gamma 9-24	Oranbegan Earth	The Oranbegan's won there battles with Mu and never became the Circle of Thorns.
Upsilon Beta 9-6	Praetorian Earth	Earth that the Praetorians come from and rule.
Omega Omicron 26-20	Council Empire	Earth that The Council Empire rules.
