Powersets with Buffs

I just cleaned up the definition for better accuracy. I also removed the "Archetypes with Buffs" section because it's very misleading. It listed the following Archetypes has having buffs: Defender Primaries, Controller Secondaries, Corruptor Secondaries, Mastermind Secondaries, Leadership Pool, and Concealment Pool.

First of all, none of those sets of powersets can be considered as general buffing sets except for the pools. To give two examples: Defenders, Controllers, and Masterminds each get Trick Arrow which is a debuff set, and Defenders, Corruptors, and Masterminds get Dark Miasma which is a debuff set. Pointing to those general sets as buff sets is misleading because they include debuff sets.

Secondly, every archetype in the game has access to buffs in its primary and/or secondary since buffs include self buffs as well as ally buffs. A few examples to prove coverage: AIM (Blasters, Corruptors, Defenders), Build Up (Blasters, Peacebringers), Eclipse (Warshades), Deflection Shield (Defenders, Controllers, Masterminds), Dull Pain (Brutes, Peacebringers, Scrappers, Stalkers, Tankers), and Power Boost (Blasters, Dominators). Pointing only to those other sets is misleading because it implies that other sets don't have buffs, which they clearly do.

There are also other pools that provide buffs (such as Hasten from the Speed pool), as well as some of the ancillary power pools and patron pools.

I can see value in having some sort of guide to buffs as they appear in various powersets, but the topic is too complex to cover in a simple definition. -- Sekoia 06:11, 24 February 2007 (PST)
