Overview

In City of Villains, Schemes are short missions that are received by reading the Rogue Island Protector in the Contact menu. Throughout the course of the game, Schemes must be completed in order to unlock new missions from Brokers. Completing three schemes will unlock a new mission from a Broker.

Schemes

There are three general templates which all schemes follow: kidnapping/rescue, boss and object retrieval.

Kidnapping

Kidnapping schemes require the player to fight through several mobs to find a friendly NPC, then lead him or her to the entrance of the mission area. Generally, the NPC is someone who has been spreading lies about the player character, or is in possession of important information.

Boss

Boss schemes require the player to fight through several mobs before reaching a final boss mob, which must be eliminated. The pretense of these schemes is usually that another villain has called the player character out, or has been receiving a great deal of attention from the press and must be 'brought down a peg'.

Object Retrieval

Object Retrieval schemes involve fighting through a mission area to find an interactive object in the game environment. The mission ends when the object is activated by clicking on it. These missions are often about stealing mysterious artifacts or taking important information from a computer.
