The base damage modifier of an attack is compared with the [[Blaster]] archetype's original damage modifiers of 1.0 for both Ranged and Melee, though Blasters have since been buffed to 1.125 for melee.

What the game actually does is each power has a scale for the effect, and an attributes table that it pulls the value from; the damage scale of the attack is multiplied by the value pulled from the attribute modifiers table (determined by archetype and level) to get the actual effect of the power.
