Born to an abusive father, Leo discovered at an early age that he could heal the bruises that the beatings left on his sister, mother and himself. Introverted and with few friends, he used to retreat into himself, using his powerful imagination to escape the life that was falling apart around him.

One night, as his father beat up his family once more, the illusions he desperately conjured in his mind materialized, attacking his father and protecting his family. His father left to never return, but realizing his mother and sister were scared of the powers he had displayed, he left to Paragon City, to start a new life alone, in a place where his powers could be accepted and used for good.
