Jumping Jack found out early in his career that while he may be much more proof against blows than normal people, they still hurt. His costume selections, then, are based on designs that distract his opponents, or blind them momentarily, on the theory that "what can't stand to look at you might just miss a little more often."

Sadly, this also tends to attract attention as well, as villains try to put him out of their misery. For this reason, Jack's teammates have all encouraged his costume selection, even while deriding it.

Lately, he has added light generators to his costume, to increase the glare his opponents must face.
