I believe the reason this is still pricey is that it contains an exclusive badge (while the items are obtainable via the Veteran Rewards program), and new unopened copies are relatively rare (the age old supply vs. demand rule). Also, it seems that the first "collector" edition of any game goes for '''much''' more than any subsequent collectors editions (Guild Wars comes to mind) because few buy them (and even fewer save them) and the production runs are limited. :The items in CoH Collector's are ''not'' available via the Veteran Rewards Program. Prestige Power Slide and the Cape of the Four Winds are ''only'' available in the Collector's Edition or in the Hero Gear Kits, which technically are cannibalized Collector's Editions that they used to sell on the website and now sometimes give away or sell at HeroCon or whatever. CoH Collector's is so pricey because there were so few of them made and VASTLY more players that want the items. ~ {{:User:Aggelakis/Sig1}} 16:56, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

City of Heroes Collector's Edition

I believe the reason this is still pricey is that it contains an exclusive badge (while the items are obtainable via the Veteran Rewards program), and new unopened copies are relatively rare (the age old supply vs. demand rule). Also, it seems that the first "collector" edition of any game goes for much more than any subsequent collectors editions (Guild Wars comes to mind) because few buy them (and even fewer save them) and the production runs are limited. The items in CoH Collector's are not available via the Veteran Rewards Program. Prestige Power Slide and the Cape of the Four Winds are only available in the Collector's Edition or in the Hero Gear Kits, which technically are cannibalized Collector's Editions that they used to sell on the website and now sometimes give away or sell at HeroCon or whatever. CoH Collector's is so pricey because there were so few of them made and VASTLY more players that want the items. ~ AGGE talk/cons 16:56, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
