:I presume the issue is with the "AoE attack" as opposed to "AoE power"? I'm okay with the correction, but present tense makes it seem like the slot is alreayd available, which is misleading. --[[User:Meagen|Meagen]] 19:47, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Revision as of 03:54, 1 November 2013

So based on the in-game interface the ten slots will be: 1. Alpha 2. Judgement 3. Interface 4. Lore 5. Destiny 6. Hybrid 7. Genesis 8. Mind (this one is called Stance on the CoH website so one of the two is wrong) 9. Vitae 10. Omega We should probably add this to the page but I'm not sure where. CmdrAdeon 07:39, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I've added the slot names and a header for the Alpha section. The previous setup made it look like the Incarnate system consisted entirely of a Power Boost and nothing else. --Meagen 12:37, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Update to Judgement

According to: [1] (checked 12/3/10), "Judgement: Grants new upgradeable area of effect (AOE) powers. Still to be unlocked." as opposed to "The Judgement slot will give characters access to a powerful AoE attack." as specified in the link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makerian (talkcontribs) 13:40, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I applied future tense. -- Sekoia 20:02, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Description issues

Incarnate slots are not Enhancement slots. Alpha applies an Enhancement bonus, but future slots will contain more than just "global bonuses". Suggested phrasing: "As player characters work through the content, they will be given rewards to unlock special Incarnate slots and special salvage to craft boosts that will increase the capabilities of Level 50 characters." --Meagen 13:43, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Information from EU I20 Sneak Peak

Master Zaprobo on the official forms was kind enough to screenshot a great deal of information about the Judgement, Lore, Interface, and Invocation Incarnate Abilities as well as some of the new Incarnate crafting recipes and post a link to a zip file containing all of it here. Arbiter Hawk on the Hybrid Slot

On 4-23-2012 Arbiter Hawk started a thread on the Issue 23 Beta General Discussion Forum. There are several posts detailing the design intent and mechanics of the Hybrid slot. I feel that we should document the information, but I'm not sure if it would be best done at Incarnate System#Developer Commentary or on the Hybrid Slot and Hybrid Slot Abilities pages. On the one hand, it is a lot of information about a specific slot to put on the general page; on the other, it's nice to have all of that developer commentary collected in one central location for easy reference, and if we put it on the Hybrid pages it will likely have to be split up between the slot and ability pages to make sense.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the matter? Draeth Darkstar 04:10, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Personally, I would think that a short usage of the {{Cutscene}} template to quote some of it with a link to the full post/thread on the Hybrid Slot page would be sufficient. No need to attempt to documetn all of it. Of couse, it is also in a Beta Thread... which will eventually go away. Hmmmmm. —Thirty7 Talk-Icon.jpg 07:43, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
If we want to copy a lot of information/quotes from that thread, I'd recommend a new article entirely. Perhaps "Hybrid Slot Development" or "Hybrid Slot Beta" or something. Or even "Hybrid Slot Developer Commentary". The other articles can then link to that article. That said, I don't really have an opinion at the moment whether the information should be archived in full or whether something along the lines of what Thirty7 proposes should be done. -- Sekoia 08:22, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Slots vs Abilities

The section "Ability List" seems like it should probably be named "Slots List". It seems like we're primarily talking about slots in that section yet we keep using the word "abilities". Or am I misunderstanding something? -- Sekoia 23:45, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

I added a header to separate the slot details from the ability details. Not sure how I missed that for so long. Good catch! LOL ~ AGGE talk/cons 02:13, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Ability List

We've been through quite a number of iterations on how the Ability List is formatted since it was written. I've a bit of a structure change that's relatively similar to what we had but breaks the information up visually a little more in an attempt to make it clearer, but I'm starting to wonder if we should just make this section into a table like it is in-game, since it's difficult to convey the fact that both the rows and the columns are meaningful to the pseudo-tiered progression system (I say pseudo-tiered because, for example, you can get Alpha and then both Physical abilities before touching the Psychic branch if you want to, so they aren't true horizontal tiers). How does everyone else feel? Is it fine as-is or should we be looking into more complex options? -Draeth Darkstar 04:41, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Eeeee. I am very very much not a fan of that layout. I really didn't see any issue with how it was laid out before. — Pill-37.png Talk · Cont 04:53, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
The currently layout looks really weird. How about we do a simple table that shows their layout, then separately list them off with bullets? We don't need to try to convey all the information in the list and the progression in one single unified display. -- Sekoia 13:02, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Actually let me amend that. We should have a separate section that discusses the progression. We don't explain anywhere (in a single, consolidated spot) that you unlock the left side independent of the right, and that each requires that the previous one below it be unlocked, but doesn't require anything of the other side, etc. So why not have a "progression" section separate from the list that then describes what each one is? -- Sekoia 13:07, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
How's that? -Draeth Darkstar 10:13, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
