A lot of discussion has gone into creating some of the standards that are currently in use on the Paragon Wiki. Here are some of the previous discussions that have led to some unofficial guidelines.

Uploaded images

Uploaded images should not show the GUI unless the GUI is what is the subject of the picture.

Character images should be be uploaded in jpg format. Icon and badge type images should be in png format. Full sized screen shots should not be used under normal circumstances, though there are exceptions.

Pictures should have their gamma level adjusted before uploading.

Adding in-game text

When a character's name is mentioned in a text, it should be removed, editing the line to make more sense if need be.

Also, if the text includes misspellings or grammatical errors, these should be corrected.

Story arc clues should not be added on a mission by mission basis. Most of these clues are reprinted in the souvenir.

Abbreviations should be expanded. A person new to online games will not know what AoE, DoT, etc stand for.

Effects should not be capitalized. Instead of "Disorientation, Immobilization, or Hold effects," it should be "disorientation, immobilization, or hold effects."

Headings

Links should not be used in headings.

Pronouns

The use of first- and second person pronouns in articles should be avoided. Instead of "I think you get ambushed upon leaving this mission," use "An ambush may occur upon leaving this mission."

Supergroups or Characters

Articles should not be created on person characters or supergroups. Info can be added to your user page, and supergroup links can be added to the Community Portal, but the wiki is not a supergroup or character database. See the Community Portal or alternatives.
