Overview

Released on November 9th, 2004, this holiday release of City of Heroes was printed on a single DVD-rom.

Packaged Items

  • An exclusive HeroClix figure
  • A foldout map of Paragon City
  • A 16-page PvP comic
  • Winning entries from the first City of Heroes Film Festival (included on the disc)
  • Previews of upcoming NCsoft games (including the City of Villains "expandalone")
  • Exclusive in-game items (listed below).

Hero Gear Kit

Due to community objections of a "special release" of the game so soon after launch, in-game items were also made briefly available through the online purchase of the City of Heroes Hero Gear Kit through the PlayNC Store. The kit was a physical item mailed to the customer, which contained the activation code and extra merchandise from the DVD Collector's Edition, but without the game itself or the box. This kit had limited availability (being part of "Collector's Edition") and has long since sold out. It was sold at Hero Con 2008, and again at Hero Con 2009.

In-Game Items

All heroes on an account that has this edition activated receive:
