Paragon Taxi Service

About the Paragon Taxi Service

The Paragon Taxi Service, or Taxibots, is a multi-server City of Heroes supergroup which started on Virtue in October 2004.

The Taxibots started out providing transportation to heroes in harm's way but now also provide services for in-game events (weddings, DJs, etc). Contact one of us in-game or on the forums if you'd like help with your in-game event. Currently, some servers have more active chapters than others.

We're a loose collection of volunteers honored to serve our fellow heores; and have been rewarded on Virtue by being named the "Best Supergroup" in the Heroes Choice Awards (2005).

For the most part our Taxibots are not our 'mains'; we enjoy logging in with our taxis to relax, help our fellow heroes and socialize.

We have a very loose leadership structure - we're all equal, and only keep track of ranks really to keep membership manageable.

Paragon Taxi Service

You think you have what it takes?

1. A Paragon Taxi Service (PTS) taxi should first and foremost like to help people. Since we don't charge for our services, those whose main characters do good deeds on a regular basis are probably best suited to be a PTS Cabbie. However, for PTS taxis, not only does this include helping heroes out of trouble, but it also means you should like to help people enjoy the game. Even though a Cabbie might not have the manners to fit in at a dinner with Queen Elizabeth, a PTS Cabbie should always be friendly to his fellow heroes. If a disagreement does arise between you and another player, please just /ignore whoever got you steamed or keep the discussion on the private channel.

2. Patience is something Cabbies should have, too. When on duty there might not be much action. This is a good chance for socializing and getting your dance moves just right. If you find you can't wait at least 15 minutes for someone to ask for a ride, then being a PTS Cabbie is probably not the character for you.

3. PTS Cabbies should not be greedy. We don't charge to help people, but every once in a while a grateful hero will give out a tip. Whether it is 1 influence or 100k influence, please be appreciative and thankful, if not downright grovelling. Also, keep tip talk to a minimum and just between taxis.

4. The Look: PTS taxis have checkers on the chest and upper legs. Some also put checkers on the gloves and boots. Most taxis start out as yellow with black checkers, but this is not necessary. You can start out as any colors you like. Your checkers can start out the same color as your outfit so they don't show when not in Super Group mode.

5. The Name: Most of the taxis who join the PTS fleet are Taxibots, which are robot-looking characters with checkers on their chests, upper legs, and sometimes on their gloves and boots. 'Taxibot ###' and 'Taxibot Word' are the two most regular forms of the Taxibot name and the best recognized. You don't have to be a Taxibot, but it is best if you have a transportation themed name so heroes will be able to associate your name with what you do.

6. The Build: The majority of PTS taxis are Defenders. Defenders give the best buffs which is an extra bonus to anyone who gets a ride from a Cabbie Defender. It isn't necessary to be a Defender. Controllers, Tankers, Scrappers and Blasters are all welcome in PTS as well.
