Information

A Hero's Journey

Three books titled Book the First, the Second Book, and the Final Book tell the coming of age story of a young hero being mentored by Epoch, a wise old man who holds a secret. The books seem to refuse to tell you the story in the proper order, but seem to randomly offer up chapters out of order.

Book the First: Chapter 14

Mission Briefing

(The first book of Trilogy opens to a random page) Character found himself / herself at the entrance of the warehouse on the outskirts of town. This was the last step in their long chain of events to determine who was behind the robot attacks on the valley that seemed to happen more and more often ever since that first fateful day. Character's powers had come in very handy for self defense, but now he / she was in the hornet's nest.

  • Turn the page

That old man was here, too. Character saw him being dragged in here by a couple of robots. Could the old man have been the one that sent the email that connected the dots between all the clues Character had gathered? Character suspected as much and wanted to be certain.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Briefing

The old man gathered his wits and spoke, 'Hello, there. You're Character aren't you? My name is Epoch, and I've been wondering when our paths would finally meet. My frail body is happy that today was such day!'

  • 'I am Character and I am here to rescue you.'
Epoch spoke, 'And for the rescue, I thank you. Now, what do you know about these robots?'
  • He / She recited the story of how they came to her farm one afternoon.
Epoch said, 'Much as I have gathered as well. I can tell that your timely rescue was born of the information I left you on the location of this place. Now, with that taken care of, shall we get down to business?'
  • Finally he / she had an ally in the fight against the robots.
  • He / She said, 'Not much. I never would have found this place without this message I received.'
+++ Missing Information +++
  • He / She stood proudly over the defeated enemies,'You OK, old man?'
Epoch answered, 'I am more than alright, Character. Now that you are here anyway.'
  • 'How do you know me?' he / she asked.
Epoch smiled 'Of course I do. Who do you think gave you the information you needed to find this place? Now, shall we take care of the business at hand?'
Finally he / she had an ally in the fight against the robots.
  • 'You know who I am?' he / she asked.
+++ Missing Information +++
  • He / She looked bewildered, was the old man following him / her?
Epoch spoke before Character could, 'Yes, I have been following your efforts. I see you got my message that betrayed the location of this lab. Now, shall we take care of business?'
Finally he / she had an ally in the fight against the robots.

Debriefing

Character and Epoch escaped the warehouse with their lives. Epoch's knowledge of the situation would prove to be quite valuable in the future. Epoch and Character frantically discussed their next move.
