Branforth the Seer was a member of the Omega Team.

Time Capsule
On 27th November 2009, the Omega Team time capsule was opened. Inside was Branforth the Seer's final letter.

{{Cutscene|Text=

I often dream of things unbidden, secrets reveal'd and secrets hidden, Future, past, or not to be, I cannot say with certainty, But in case I won't return, these visions from my letter learn, And so before Omega leaves... I here entrust you with these dreams.

The glor'ous monarch will defend, his homeland to the bitter end, An army built to soothe all doubts, but ripples show in upstart bouts, Make you choice: red blue or gray, choose who to spurn and who obey, You'd like to think there's no price dear, but the real world is not so clear.

I saw a mirror torn apart, thousand-spiraling work of art, Behind a veil was once a fool, now its creation is its tool, Suffered from a mighty fall, seeks again to consume all, To face it our heroes prep, to win just watch that first step.

A peaceful race comes from afar, a living message in a jar, Find they cannot grow any more, into new flesh they are reborn, Silence breaks by the gods thunder, coexistence cast asunder, Now just one culture slow to change, not evil pure but surely strange.

A thousand men with javelin, fight to compound their master's sin, Darkly corrupt by twilight gaze, a secret deal to end our days. Hero, villain, that time forgot, what do they know that we do not? Side-by-side both sides excel, fighting for time-warped parallel.

Time's river's course is left to run, till shattered by the million suns, Eternal gear comes back to warn, all must beware the coming storm, From ice and flame and tests of will, forgotten deeds one can fulfill, Has he made strong by accident, those whose acts will despair prevent?

Fan Interpretations
"City of" fans on and off the official forums have interpreted Branforth's letter with some remarkable insights. Please bear in mind this is only speculation and assumptions; events may change later on to make some or all of this moot!

*The glor'ous monarch will defend, his homeland to the bitter end, An army built to soothe all doubts, but ripples show in upstart bouts, Make you choice: red blue or gray, choose who to spurn and who obey, You'd like to think there's no price dear, but the real world is not so clear.
::Referencing Praetoria and specifically, Going Rogue.
:::The monarch refers to Tyrant or rather, Emperor Cole.
:::The mentioned army is likely to be combination of the Praetorian Clockwork, Seers, Praetorian Police Department, Powers Division and other groups under Emperor Cole's control.
:::Red, blue, or gray refers to side-switching for Villains (red), Heroes (blue), and the upcoming Rogues and Vigilantes (gray).
:::Choosing who to spurn and who obey can refer to the numerous moral choices in Praetoria.

*I saw a mirror torn apart, thousand-spiraling work of art, Behind a veil was once a fool, now its creation is its tool, Suffered from a mighty fall, seeks again to consume all, To face it our heroes prep, to win just watch that first step.
::Refers to the Shadow Shard and to Rularuu.

*A peaceful race comes from afar, a living message in a jar, Find they cannot grow any more, into new flesh they are reborn, Silence breaks by the gods thunder, coexistence cast asunder, Now just one culture slow to change, not evil pure but surely strange.
::Refers to Kheldians, an alien race from across the galaxy who require hosts, along with Warshades who are reformed Nictus.

*Bloated life which has not a peer, gobbles all that mankind holds dear, The hive will grow to rise and fall, all will battle the monster tall, Across the way a mirror flow'r, has no such foes slow its devour, Not placated with scraps to eat, it's rage shall spark leader's retreat.
::Refers to Hamidon in The Hive, along with the Devouring Earth. The mirror flow'r, might refer to Hamidon's appearance in the Rogue Isles.

*A thousand men with javelin, fight to compound their master's sin, Darkly corrupt by twilight gaze, a secret deal to end our days. Hero, villain, that time forgot, what do they know that we do not? Side-by-side both sides excel, fighting for time-warped parallel.
::Cimerora, the Cimeroran Traitors, along with Romulus Augustus' corruption by the Nictus. Side-by-side both sides excel refers to the Cimerora zone being a co-op zone, with players of both sides fighting alongside each other.

*Time's river's course is left to run, till shattered by the million suns, Eternal gear comes back to warn, all must beware the coming storm, From ice and flame and tests of will, forgotten deeds one can fulfill, Has he made strong by accident, those whose acts will despair prevent?
::Possibly refers to five archetypes on each side of the fence, Powerset Proliferation, and/or the Well of the Furies.

*Man kills brother; sets into motion, a hundred lifetimes of commotion, Meticulous manipulation, attempts to take this very nation, Within mirrors glow he finds a pawn, his trick forces them to take us on, We shall fall for his games no longer, that which challenges makes us stronger.
::Let loose the tide of villain mix refers to City of Villains itself.
::Unless the one stop destiny - Operation: DESTINY, along with the player's role in the scheme of things.

*Create new thing which heals or harms, accelerate the race of arms, A million more to buy and trade, the inventors must all be paid, A flood of brains rain in the town, but evil lurks to bring all down, The helmed one strikes with draining web, the war comes to a crucial head.
::Inventions, the Auction House, and Brain Storm Ideas

*You may have seen all that I say, or await it another day, Of many things I have not dreamt, events the gods have not yet sent, And do forgive this awful curse, the fates decree I write in verse, Wish I were there to interpret, but battle calls and must be met.
::The gods likely refer to the Developers.
Overview
Aurora Borealis is a Praetorian Earth resident, a former Praetorian Guard, the wife of Calvin Scott, and the Praetorian counterpart of Primal Earth's similarly named Aurora Borealis.

Her body is currently the host of Mother Mayhem's consciousness.

Background
Not much is known of Praetor Aurora Borealis, except in the aftermath of the Hamidon Wars, Aurora and Calvin Scott met, fell in love with each other at first sight, and were wedded to each other. She was known for saying, "I've never met a man with more love in his heart than my Calvin."

When a freak accident involving an unstable psychic killed her former classmate, friend, and mentor, Praetor Shalice Tilman (who would later be known to Primal Earth as Mother Mayhem), Aurora took in Shalice's consciousness into her own body, allowing herself to be used as a host, so that Shalice could live and continue to serve Praetoria.

At least, that was what was told to Calvin Scott. Upon digging further into the matter, Calvin found himself admitted to the Mother of Mercy Psychiatric Hospital by the Emperor's decree and placed under Praetor Tilman's personal care. Tormented by the demon wearing his wife's body, Calvin changed forever as he was consumed by an all-powerful and everlasting rage.

Hey there,
I know I'm new but I was seeing a few errors in the alignment listings. Vigilante and Rogue are not steps in a chain from hero to villain, the team stated that heroes can become vigilantes, and villains can become rogues, so I made a few changes to the listings. Please let me know if I fumbled on formatting, I don't really do much wiki stuff, heh. Thank you!
Hey there,
I'm pretty sure the alignment details are wrong.. I've heard the dev's describe it as Heroes go vigilante, villains go rogue, and this allows the accesses listed, and it's not so much a chain. If someone has reference for this chain system than could that please be cited?-
Dekar 16:42, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

In fact I would like to reference the Herocon keynote which detailed the alignment and set forth that when a villain falls they ARE a rogue and they can go to paragon city, etc, and the opposite for heroes. Unless someone can present a source for the chain system, I am going to keep the changes. -
The keynote presentation shows that this is not the case. The villain version of a hero IS a vigilante, it's not one step. If this has been elaborated on further since then, I have not seen, but if you have a source please bring it up and we'll keep it that way. I posted a link to the video detailing this on the main wiki page. --Dekar 17:04, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Torch Lighthttps://archive.paragonwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Alignment&diff=159567Alignment2010-05-13T16:57:29Z
Torch Light: Undo revision 159480 by Aggelakis (Talk)

Thanks for catching that. I must have been doing too many things at once last night - that or I'm getting senile. :) --Eabrace 13:32, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
Hey there man, I apologize if I have my details wrong but I've heard the devs saying that you don't Switch, heroes become vigilantes, and villains become rogues. I'll leave it be for now until I can find the details. Again, If i'm wrong, I do apologizes, but I'm pretty certain thats how it works..
Torch Lighthttps://archive.paragonwiki.com/w/index.php?title=User:Torch_Light&diff=159473User:Torch Light2010-05-12T05:55:36Z
Torch Light: Created page with 'Dekar is new to editing the wiki, but is decidedly a pretty neat guy so he promises not to mess things up too badly.
Hey there,
I know I'm new but I was seeing a few errors in the alignment listings. Vigilante and Rogue are not steps in a chain from hero to villain, the team stated that heroes can become vigilantes, and villains can become rogues, so I made a few changes to the listings. Please let me know if I fumbled on formatting, I don't really do much wiki stuff, heh. Thank you!
__NOTOC__
Overview
Alignment is the way the game distinguishes between hero, villain, and everything in between. It will be introduced by the Going Rogue expansion. It has been described as an involved process, not a "switch" that can be "flipped". Alignment Tip missions will somehow factor into this process of players falling or redeeming themselves.
clr

Alignment Types
True Alignment
Heroes and villains that do not fall or redeem themselves have access only to their original sides and their alignment's Praetorian content. They also get a badge that is revoked if they ever fall or are redeemed.

Falling and Redeeming
*A hero falls from grace and becomes a vigilante.
**Access to both Paragon City and Rogue Isles zones, including badges
**Access only to Wentworth's Fine Consignments
*A villain redeems themselves and becomes a rogue.
**Access to both Paragon City and Rogue Isles zones, including badges
**Access only to the Black Market

Praetorian Alignment
A character may start at Level 1 in Praetoria. During the course of its career, they will choose to assist The Resistance or the Loyalists. Characters that assist the Resistance become heroes, while characters that assist the Loyalists become villains.
Issue 17, titled Dark Mirror, will be a major revision to City of Heroes and City of Villains. The title references a new enemy group introduced in the new story arcs and updated Positron Task Force.

This article summarizes some of the major features in Issue 17.

*Closed Beta testing on the Training Room for Issue 17 started on March 2, 2010.

*On April 14, 2010, the Training Room was opened up for Issue 17 Open Beta.

Confirmed Content
Ultra Mode
Ultra Mode includes a superior graphics rendering process for players who have higher-end graphic cards. Each feature can be enabled or disabled in the graphics menu options and will be scalable. Ultra Mode works on both Macs and PCs. In specific, it offers dynamic shadows, screen-space ambient occlusion, and dynamic environment reflections (including planar reflections and environment mapping of reflective surfaces).

New Story Arcs
Issue 17: Dark Mirror features two new Hero and two new Villain story arcs for levels 20-30. Each of these story arcs has four missions, and the story arcs highlight the Dark Mirror's sinister new enemy. Acquire first Hero story arc in Talos Island, and the first Villain arc in Sharkhead Isle.

Task/Strike Force Updates
The Positron Task Force has been split into two halves and updated. The final battle of the Task Force takes place in the Faultline Dam and incorporates the new Dark Mirror enemy.

The Silver Mantis Strike Force will now be available to all Villains, not just supergroups. You now can access the Silver Mantis Strike Force via Silver Mantis, located in Sharkhead Isle. You can also run this Task Force from your supergroup computer.

New Badges
Along with adding badges for 500 Badges Earned, 750 Badges Earned, and 1,000 Badges Earned, new Exploration Badges have been added to city zones, almost doubling the number of exploration badges. Players can learn new Accolades for finding all of the exploration badges in each city zone.

Quality of Life Improvements
* Craftable Temporary Powers: a cleaner and more consistent way of finding and crafting temporary powers
* Increased Mission Count: players can now have seven active missions (previously three)
* Show Last Objective: This UI improvement lets players find the last objective on a mission map, making it easier to find something missed
* Auction House: The UI gives you new options for sorting search results, your Auction House inventory is now separated by clearly marked tabs based on the item's status, the Auction House text entry box now autocompletes, and a single click on a recipe displays all salvage needed for that recipe
* In-Game E-Mail: Players can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa)

Mission Architect Improvements
* Experience: Players can now handpick the powers for custom enemies and still receive experience for them (within game balance limits)
* New Maps: Approximately 20 new unique maps
* Giant Monsters: Players can now add giant monsters to some outdoor maps
* Exit Mission on Complete: Players can now specify that players have to leave the mission manually on completion
* Escort Missions: "Lead to place" technology allows players more control over escort objectives

Miscellaneous Improvements
* New player emotes. Details to follow.
* You will now be able to select tail body parts that will react to your movement and have a swaying or swishing idle animation mode.
**Tails have moved to a separate "Lower Body" option, meaning you can have a belt and a tail at the same time. You will need to go to a tailor to upgrade to the animated version. Additionally, if you are using a legacy static tail, the next time you visit a tailor, you will be forced to select it from its new sorting location.
* Epic Archetypes now unlock at Level 20 instead of Level 50.
* The set bonuses provided by Blessing of the Zephyr are being reduced.
* Vigilance is being reworked in some manner.
More on Email Attachments
The Developer, pohsyb, gave more information on the forums about the new email system where infamy/influence and items can be sent by in-game email:

*Emails can be sent to local as well as global names now.

*Emails with attachments can only be sent to a Global name.

*Valid attachments are Images, Enhancements, Salvage, Recipes and Inspirations if they are tradeable (buyable on AH). One per email. Inf can be sent alongside item.

*There will be 20 mail cap to inbox. Mails sent to full mailbox will bounce (bounced mails can exceed cap). If you are at the cap you cannot send mails.

*Items with attachments cannot be deleted until attachment is claimed. They can be returned to sender.

*Nothing can cross from hero to villain or vice-versa.

*An example of sending oneself an item (Awesomething) by @Starchild whose PCs are RichHero, PoorHero, and PoorVillain:
# Logon RichHero
# Send Awesomething to @Starchild
# Note that you have new mail with Awesomething attached
# Log off RichHero.
# Log on PoorVillain.
# Note you have Email with Awesomething attached.
# Try to claim it greedy villain, go on I dare you.
# No you cannot have item! You are villain!
# Log on PoorHero.
# Note you have Email with Awesomething attached.
# Claim Awesomething.
