The Keyes Island Reactor Trial is the third Incarnate Trial, released with Issue 20.5: Incarnates Ascend, which takes place in Praetoria. A maximum of 24 players can raid the Keyes Island Reactor. Chronologically, this trial takes place immediately after both the Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial and the Lambda Sector Trial.

During the mission, a voice will "radio in" information about your progress. While there is no specific contact (the trial is entered entirely through the LFG menu), it is possible that your unseen helper is meant to be Prometheus as he was added in Issue 20 to recruit Incarnate-capable players to wage a war against Emperor Cole and end his quest to become more in-tune with the Well of the Furies.

Both types of Incarnate Experience are gained towards unlocking the Incarnate Slots.

In Detail
The Keyes Island Reactor Trial is an Incarnate Trial that takes place in Praetoria. There is no contact for this trial, though it could be argued that Prometheus is your contact. However, rather than going to anyone for a mission, the players use the Team-Up Teleporter to find other interested players.

The general theme of the trial is that there are three antimatter reactors on Keyes Isle, which Anti-Matter himself is harnessing to halt your progress. Your League's task is to power up the six of the ten Containment System Terminals at each of the reactors to neutralize them, all the while avoiding Anti-Matter's powerful attacks and the devastating Anti-Matter Pulses that fire off of the reactors themselves at regular intervals of 30 seconds--greatly damaging everyone in the League. Once all three reactors are neutralized, the Anti-Matter Pulse will be permanently disabled and a final confrontation with Anti-Matter will take place.

In all three of the reactor phases, your League will need to acquire Power Cells and use them to power up at least 6 Containment System Terminals at each reactor. There are Warworks guarding each terminal, and they must be cleared away or defeated before the terminal can be powered up. After 90 seconds at each reactor, Anti-Matter will appear. Once this happens, Containment Terminals can only be powered up while Anti-Matter is nearby, in addition to the previously mentioned Warworks condition. The three reactor phases are mostly the same, but the method with which you acquire the Power Cells is different. Each Containment System Terminal must be powered up with 3 Power Cells.

Phase 1, Reactor Hope
This phase begins with a cutscene and 30 Warworks must be defeated to start the event. Once that happens, boxes of electronics are scattered around the reactor at ground level. These are "glowies," and can be clicked to receive one Power Cell each. The glowies "restock" at regular intervals and can be clicked again for additional Power Cells.

Phase 2, Reactor Genesis
In this phase, the Warworks are attempting to abscond with the Power Cells to prevent your league from acquiring them. There will be spawns of Warworks, called Recovery Teams, moving away from the reactor. There will be a Goliath War Walker in each one, which will randomly award two Power Cells to the leaguemates who helped destroy it. A meter will be present in the event information box indicating how many Goliaths have been defeated (a minimum of 15 are necessary to complete the event), but it is provided solely for informative purposes.

Phase 3, Reactor Infinity
With the failure of the Recovery Teams, the Warworks have resorted to stashing the remaining Power Cells in bunkers to prevent your League from accessing them. There are three bunkers surrounding the reactor, and your League must break down the doors (or sneak in through the vents) to gain access to the storage areas. There are multiple boxes of electronics within each bunker, which are "glowies" like they were at Reactor Hope. Each one grants two Power Cells, and will be restocked at regular intervals.

Phase 4, Truck Depot
With all of the reactors neutralized, Anti-Matter confronts your League and must be defeated. There's a number of hazards to watch out for:
*Anti-Matter can Disintegrate a target, which is a scaling DoT attack, appearing as a large green bubble around the target, that deals more damage with each tick, doing damage of 20%, 40%, 60%, and lastly 80% of the character's Hit Points on the final tick. If a person dies from the Disintegrate attack, Anti-Matter regenerates for 25% of his hit points.
*The Obliteration Beam will fire at a given target, but is stationary once the target's location is selected. This is marked on the ground with a very large green circle, and will deal considerable damage to anyone within its radius when it fires.
**After the Obliteration Beam fires, leaguemates will be affected by various forms of Entanglement, which are short-term contagious debuffs and damage.
*At 80%, 50% and 20% health, Anti-Matter will freeze time momentarily while he approaches one of his regeneration stations. This will prevent all leaguemates from moving, even if the Obliteration Beam is firing. Once Anti-Matter reaches his station, Drawdown Terminals at each station can be destroyed to interrupt his regeneration before he heals completely.

Note: Bunker Buster is rewarded at trial completion.

Experience
* Physical Incarnate & Psychic Incarnate Experience is earned, which unlocks the Alpha, Interface, Judgement, Destiny and Lore Slots, if any of these slots are locked.
Salvage
* Incarnate Threads drop instead of Incarnate Shards.
* Upon successful completion of this trial, each character is presented with a reward table allowing them to choose one reward from several options. There is a participation threshold that must be met in order to receive an Incarnate Component table instead of a 10 Threads or one Super-level inspiration "consolation prize".
** If a character surpasses this threshold, the rarity of the component reward is a random roll. The options available will either be a choice of: one Common component or two Super-level inspirations, one Uncommon component or three Super-level inspirations, one Rare component or four Super-level inspirations, or one Very Rare component or five Super-level inspirations.
* The chances of receiving a Rare or Very Rare Incarnate Component upon completion of this trial are higher than in other Incarnate Trials.
* A random Uncommon Incarnate Component is awarded the first time each achievement badge is qualified for.
* A random Rare Incarnate Component is awarded the first time the Master of Keyes Island Reactor badge is qualified for.

Merits
* Two Empyrean Merits will be awarded upon successful completion of the Trial once per 20 hour period.
** Any successive completion of the Trial within that 20 hour window will instead award two Astral Merits. This functionality is essentially the Incarnate Trial version of Merit Reward Diminishing Returns.
* An Astral Merit will be awarded immediately after stabilizing each reactor.
* An additional Astral Merit can be rewarded at the end of the trial for running as an Open League.
* An additional Astral Merit can be earned if the requirements for the Anti-Anti-Matter badge are fulfilled, even if you already have the badge. It is awarded at the end of the trial.
* An additional Astral Merit can be earned if the requirements for the Bunker Buster badge are fulfilled, even if you already have the badge. It is awarded at the end of the trial.
* An additional Astral Merit can be earned if the requirements for the Loves a Challenge badge are fulfilled, even if you already have the badge. It is awarded at the end of the trial.
* An additional Astral Merit can be earned if the requirements for the Avoids the Green Stuff badge are fulfilled, even if you already have the badge. It is awarded at the end of the trial.
*Keyes Island Reactor Trial Strategy
*Visual Guide: Keyes Island Reactor Trial

Historical
* Originally, the Keyes Island Reactor Trial was harder. As a result, few players would attempt it, opting for running Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial and Lambda Sector Trial over and over instead. It was changed to entice players to attempt the Trial more often. Originally, the Trial had the following:
** Phases 1, 2, and 3 required all ten Containment System Terminals to be neutralized rather than just six
** Disintegrate, as used by Anti-Matter, dealt more damage with each tick, with the final tick doing 99% of a player's health rather than 80% as it is currently
** The Incarnate Component reward table was standard in the original; it was updated to increase the chance of Rare or Very Rare components dropping
It's suiting that you would be the one, I assume once again, to be in charge of saving the world. If we're going to do this, we're going to need a literal army of our own to face off against Mot.

While you've been finding out how to destroy Mot, I've been spreading word of our plight across the world, telling the people that now is the time for us to fight, to put aside our differences. I assumed that if our plans all failed, our last attempt would be for all the powers of the world to throw themselves at Mot in the hopes of wiping it out. But now, we have a new plan.

I've instructed all those who I've talked to of a time and place to gather. I've requested those of a less... savory attitude to put their villainy aside, and those of a more righteous view to focus on the task at hand. We must all band together to fight the monstrous horde of Mot so that you can get to the Sentinel and destroy the creature from the inside.

* Do you know if anyone actually will help?

We'll see soon enough, Character. All we can do now is use the time that has been given to us. We will do what we can with whoever has shown up, but we'll have to hurry. Mot is beginning to consume entire cities, Character. We've received word that nearly the entire population of Chicago has been absorbed by Mot. We do not know what city could be next.

With the Sentinel on our side, Mot will have no major individual force to back it up, just a horde of monsters. You will have to carve a path through them and reach the Sentinel, while whoever else shows up provides enough of a distraction that Mot's attention is divided.

Let us go to the meeting place, Character, where the fate of the world shall be determined once and for all.
{{Mission Briefing|Contact=Dream Doctor|Text=Character! This is a greater turnout than I ever expected. We have a supply of people on reserve here, if worse comes to worse. Right now the fight is already happening in Mot's graveyard. The Vindicators and the Freedom Phalanx are out there, doing their best to draw Mot's attention away from you. Colonel Duray is sending his men on bombing runs, while Apex is leading a squad of Vanguard, Longbow, and PPD on the other side of the graveyard. Arachnos and Longbow are fighting the Pantheon within the city, and even Malta has sent help in the form of their Kronos Titan. It's up to you now to get to the heart of Mot's graveyard and do what must be done. You will not be alone, however. There are several powerful allies who are clearing the area for you to arrive in the graveyard. They're willing to give you back up to get to where you need to be.

Character, we did it, you did it! Mot's power is trapped within that barrier. He still has his followers, but they'll pose little to no threat now that he has been sealed. The world owes you a huge thanks, Character. We'll never know what truly happened with you inside of Mot, but we all knew when we saw the barrier shoot up that the day was saved.

Everyone that played a role in this is starting to go back to where they came from, though I fear there is some trouble brewing with so many rival factions together...

It's something that I'll have to deal with myself, Character, you don't have to concern yourself. I do hope, however, that you and I will work together again in the future against a common enemy: Ouroboros. There is still much to do for the Coming Storm, and allies are sorely needed, especially with Protean abandoning the team. Scirocco, I believe, may yet be of use. He has returned with Ice Mistral to Grandville, but he is a changed man. The effects of what happened today are going to be felt for years to come, Character.

You've been flung into the depths of a god of death, fought monsters the likes that have never been seen before, travelled back through time... I believe you deserve a well-earned rest. I'll take care of cleaning things up from here on out, Character. We'll speak again when the time is right.
I've tried to get in touch with Scirocco, but he is not responding. I fear that Mot is aware that we're getting closer to finding his weakness and has either killed Scirocco or is in the process of doing so; it will then command its minions to destroy the last traces of Hazen's journal.

Even if we free every single person within Mot, the monster will just absorb them once again. Hazen must have had a way around that with the magic he used. It's a long shot yet again, Character, but our long shot from before paid off with the Sentinel.
Brilliant work, Character! I can't believe it... all of this time, we were looking at one half of the puzzle! How could I have not seen this before?!

Of course you can't banish Mot into the spirit world... that would just be sweeping the problem underneath a rug! You have to hit the creature in its heart, its ability to absorb death and suffering! This is... we have a hope now, Character, although it's still a long shot. Tielekku can utilize the power of the runes in Dark Astoria and your own Incarnate powers to create the barrier to seal Mot's power. But first, you'll need to free Tielekku, which will involve you getting inside of Mot... which involves you getting to Mot's maw to work with the Sentinel, which then involves you not having Mot's full attention on you.

There are a lot of ways for this to fail, Character, but that's what I've been preparing for. It's time for the final battle for our world, and you're at the heart of it.

Ask why Reichsman is so powerful

I believe that Reichsman has kidnapped a number of his counterparts -- including Statesman -- and is somehow transferring a portion of their power to himself. This is making him incredibly powerful, as you've seen.

Right now, I don't believe that there's a hero -- or hero team -- that can stand up to him. If he continues unchecked, his invasion will succeed and Paragon City will be conquered by the 5th Column.

Ask how you can defeat Reichsman

Reichsman is enhancing himself with cross-dimensional energy. If you can somehow reinforce his connection to his home dimension, you should be able to 'ground' him and, in effect, short out much of his added power. Reichsman will still be very powerful, but I believe you and your companions will be able to defeat him.

We know the coordinates of Reichsman's home dimension. If you go through the portal and tap some energy sources, I should be able to use that energy to power a device that will create a stronger connection between Reichsman and his home. Here, this scanner will let you see the sources. When you find them, just plant one of these taps on each one. I'll need about five sources to power the 'grounding ray'.
The time has come for your team to make their final stand against Reichsman and his forces. The concept of something bigger than an all-out invasion frightens me, Character. You need to get to Reichsman's base and stop him before it is too late.
These plans for conquest remind you of the time when you saved Paragon City from the 5th Column in an adventure you call

The Return of the Reichsman

When a break in at City Hall lead you to a base that was rife with 5th Column activity, you knew something big was up. Your hunch was proved right when the 5th Column invaded Boomtown, so you headed there to shut them down. Though you defeated their generals and shut down the troop portals, a super-charged Reichsman arrived forcing you to retreat and find some way to defeat him.

Your investigations lead you to a 5th Column base where you recovered information that revealed Reichsman was an alternate version of Statesman, and was collecting other alternate versions of himself from which he could steal power, making him practically invincible. Working on the theory you could somehow "ground" this power out with the proper energy source, you went to Axis Earth where you tapped 5 energy sources.

You returned to your home and traveled to the 5th Column Base in Boomtown to confront Reichsman, only to find him in conference with four of the most powerful arch-villains around! You shattered his plans of an alliance of evil and captured the arch-villains, but Reichsman managed to slip away in the end. Somehow, you don't think you've seen the last of him.
